11 gamblers arrested for illegal football betting worth over 7 billion VND.

The Criminal Police Department of Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police has just dismantled a gambling den operating through football betting at Cafe 186, Nguyen Van Linh Street, Huong So Ward, Hue City.

Earlier, on the evening of December 19th, officers from the Criminal Police Department of Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police unexpectedly raided the cafe at 186 Nguyen Van Linh Street, Huong So Ward, Hue City, catching a group red-handed organizing gambling in the form of football betting.

The suspects include Nguyen Van Phung (37 years old, residing on Thai Phien Street, Tay Loc Ward), the ringleader, along with two accomplices: Dang Quang Trung (32 years old, residing in Huong So Ward); Ngo Huynh Minh Hoang (25 years old, residing in Dong Ba Ward), and eight other gamblers.

During the inspection, the police seized numerous devices such as computers, televisions, and mobile phones used for organizing and participating in gambling activities.

Extracting gambling transaction history from the accounts managed by the suspects, from November to the present, the group has engaged in football betting with a total amount exceeding 7,2 billion VND.

Currently, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police is continuing to investigate and clarify the case.
