On the evening of August 31st, the Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center - Institute of Geophysics (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) announced that another earthquake had occurred in Kon Plông district (Kon Tum province). This was the second earthquake of the day in the area.

Accordingly, the latest earthquake recorded had a magnitude of 2.5, occurring at 17:23:05. The focal depth was approximately 8,1 km. The natural disaster risk level is 0.
The Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center - Institute of Geophysics is continuing to monitor these earthquakes.
Earlier, at 04:10:14 on the same day, a 2.6 magnitude earthquake also occurred in the area. This earthquake had a focal depth of approximately 8.1 km and a disaster risk level of 0.
On August 23rd, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 on the Richter scale struck the area. This was the strongest earthquake ever recorded in Kon Tum province, causing loud noises and strong tremors that affected Nam Tra My district (Quang Nam province). Many residents in Quang Nam and Da Nang clearly felt the aftershocks, shaking and trembling for about 3-5 seconds.
