Container trucks are specialized cargo vehicles, so according to regulations from the Ministry of Transport, drivers are required to have a Class FC driver's license to operate one. The FC driver's license is a license issued to drivers of automobiles that allows them to operate the types of vehicles specified in the Class C driver's license, including tractor-trailer trucks (and container trucks), and also allows them to operate the types of vehicles specified in Class B1, B2, C, and FB2 driver's licenses. According to Clause 4, Article 17 of Circular 12/2017/TT-BGTVT (amended by Circular 01/2021/TT-BGTVT), the validity period of a Class FC driver's license is 5 years from the date of issuance.
