Synopsis of the film *The Birth of All Things*
The novel "The Birth of All Things" is adapted from the original novel "Lingering Affection and Severance" by writer Zhao De Fa, set in the rural area of Lu Nan during the period 1927-1947.
Besides the story revolving around the life of the central character, the work is notable for its vivid portrayal of a difficult and impoverished period in China, both materially and spiritually. In particular, the film reflects on and criticizes outdated ideas targeting women.
The series "The Birth of All Things" opens with the narration of the main character, Ning Xiu Xiu (played by Yang Mi), as she reminisces about the fateful day that completely changed her life. It was the day of Xiu Xiu's wedding, after three years of waiting for her fiancé, Fei Wen Dian (played by Zhang Tian Yang), to graduate.
Tragically, disaster struck on Ning Tu Tu's wedding day. She was kidnapped by bandits just before her wedding. They demanded a large ransom from her family before midnight, threatening to defile her if they refused.

The science of living things is receiving high praise from both critics and audiences.
Despite the family's burning anxiety, Tú Tú's father, out of tiếc of the money, abandoned his daughter and forced his youngest daughter, Tô Tô, to marry Phí Văn Điển in her place to avoid losing the dowry already sent by the groom's family. Meanwhile, the young master Phí remained unaware that Tô Tô was not Tú Tú under the veil. He naively believed that Tú Tú had been ransomed from the robbers.
Meanwhile, Phong Dai Cuoc, a poor farmer who had secretly loved Tu Tu since childhood, braved the snowstorm and rushed up the mountain to rescue his dream girl upon hearing that she had been kidnapped. Tu Tu was successfully rescued, but the marriage could not be saved.
Having narrowly escaped death, the first thing Tú Tú heard from her father, who had abandoned her, was: "Were you humiliated by the robbers?" Furious at him, she lied, saying she had been assaulted by the robbers all night and then released. Her story soon spread throughout the village, and Tú Tú became the subject of gossip and criticism for her "loss of virtue."
Taking advantage of the sensitive situation, Da Jiao's father, without consulting his son, sent someone to propose marriage to Tu Tu – a young lady now considered "unclean" in the eyes of others – hoping to receive a large dowry from the wealthy family. Hearing that her savior was proposing marriage, and at a time when she wanted to leave the family that had abandoned her, Ninh Tu Tu decided to disown her father and agree to marry Da Jiao.
From here, the pampered young lady began a new life in a struggling farming family. Every day, Tú Tú worked alongside her husband's family, plowing the fields, chopping firewood in the mountains, and eating rice porridge instead of rice. Beside the kind and honest man, Đại Cước, she found simple happiness amidst their hardships.
Ninh Tu Tu also used her knowledge and understanding to help her neighbors, leading the women in the village to overcome the feudal constraints of the time. Living in a period of turbulent history, Tu Tu also participated in suppressing bandits and resisting the Japanese, writing a glorious story of her life.
The film's setting is meticulously crafted, with attention to detail to capture the atmosphere of a difficult era. While the script for *The Birth of All Things* isn't perfect and it's too early to say whether the film will start strong but end weakly, the themes explored are quite unique and emotionally impactful. The pace isn't too fast, focusing on scenes depicting the characters' inner feelings, with many segments bringing tears to the audience's eyes.
