On the evening of November 4th, Kieu Hai, the son of artist Kieu Hung, announced the sad news. Artist Kieu Hung passed away He passed away early in the morning of October 30th at Vivantes Friedrichshain Hospital (Germany), at the age of 88. Information regarding the memorial service and farewell will be announced by the family later.

Artist Kieu Hung (real name Kieu Tat Hung), was born in 1937 in Phu Xuyen, Hanoi. During his school years, he participated in the amateur performing arts group of the Hanoi Youth Union. At the age of 20, he was selected to join the Central Performing Arts Troupe (later the Central Song and Dance Troupe).
During his six years with the troupe, Kieu Hung regularly performed on various fronts. In the early stages of the US bombing of North Vietnam, he performed on islands and in many battlefields. In 1966, he was sent to the Soviet Union to study music, in the same class as People's Artist Trung Kien and composers Nguyen Duc Toan and Tran Thu Ha.
Throughout his career, artist Kieu Hung has successfully performed a series of famous songs that have stood the test of time, such as: The Bauhinia Grove, Love Song, The Road to Northwest Vietnam, Drifting Water Hyacinths and Clouds, The Song of the Forest Worker, Song on the Mountain, Song of Hanoi…

In 1995, artist Kieu Hung and his family moved to Germany to settle and regularly participated in community music programs for Vietnamese people there.
In 2008, he experienced serious health problems, suffering from hemiplegia and memory loss due to a stroke. After more than 10 days of treatment, his condition gradually stabilized, but his memory did not fully recover.
In 2011, he returned to Vietnam to continue his treatment and attend the 60th anniversary celebration of the Central National Opera and Ballet Theatre. Three years later, he appeared in a concert by a renowned singer. Trọng Tấn and the "Melodies of Pride" program on VTV.
