Despite being down to 10 men, and even losing their head coach Xavi to a red card, Barca still pressed forward in attack hoping to find an equalizer. The home side had at least three clear scoring opportunities. However, Lewandowski and Raphinha both missed their chances.

In the 89th minute, PSG counter-attacked. Mbappe capitalized on the ensuing chaos to score the rebound, securing a 4-1 victory in the second leg and a 6-4 aggregate win for the Ligue 1 side. PSG's opponent in the semi-finals will be Dortmund, who defeated Atletico Madrid.
