(VTC News) - Over the past two days, fishermen in Bac Lieu have discovered three dead whales washed ashore in the protected forest. One whale, weighing over half a ton, was successfully towed back to sea.
According to Mr. Tran Xi Khuol, Deputy Head of the Fisheries Resource Protection Sub-Department of Bac Lieu province, on the morning of December 20th, fishermen along the coast of Hoa Binh district (Bac Lieu) discovered a dead whale weighing over half a ton near the protected forest.

This is the third dead whale discovered off the coast of Bac Lieu in the past three days. One was taken to the Van Ban Ngu Hanh temple for burial, and another was butchered and eaten by residents of Vinh Trach Dong commune (Bac Lieu City) and sold.
Regarding the 600kg whale that stranded on the beach of Nha Mat ward, Bac Lieu city on December 18th, hundreds of people worked to rescue it and safely return it to the open sea.
