Hue FC goalkeeper passes away.

Hue Football Club announced the death of goalkeeper Le Van Tan at the age of 26. The team from the ancient capital posted a message of condolence on social media:Farewell, Le Van Tan, a young man full of determination and optimism, with a gentle smile on his face. A person who always loved his family dearly and lived with unwavering loyalty to his friends and colleagues. Hue Football Club extends its deepest condolences to the entire family of goalkeeper Le Van Tan.”

Le Van Tan, born on August 20, 1997, is from Huong Thuy (Hue). Le Van Tan joined the Hue youth team in 2011, alongside highly-rated young players such as Vo Ly and Tran Thanh.

Van Tan quickly became the number one goalkeeper for Hue's youth teams from U13 to U21. In 2016, he was promoted to the first team by coach Nguyen Duc Dung to train and compete, and a year later, he and the club won the runner-up title in the National First Division League.

Van Tan joined Dong Thap FC in 2019 on loan. He then returned to Hue FC to play as the second-choice goalkeeper, a backup to Nguyen Tien Tao. In the 2020 season, Van Tan showed significant improvement after a few appearances in the National First Division.

In the 2022 season, Le Van Tan was included in the squad list for all rounds of the National First Division League. However, the goalkeeper did not play in any matches. Hue FC rotated between two goalkeepers, Nguyen Tien Tao and Vo Duc Bao.

According to VTC News, Le Van Tan had been battling cancer for a long time. The goalkeeper of Hue FC passed away today, March 23rd. Many relatives, friends, and fans have sent their condolences to Van Tan's family. For Hue football fans, friends, colleagues, and coaches, Le Van Tan was always a cherished young man both on and off the field.
