Tết Đoan Ngọ còn gọi là Tết diệt sâu bọ rơi vào ngày mùng 5/5 Âm lịch hằng năm. Vào ngày này, người dân thường chuẩn bị mâm cỗ cúng gồm các loại trái cây như vải, mận, rượu nếp, bánh giò…
With mâm cúng lễ, người xưa còn chuẩn bị bài cúng với ý nghĩa mong muốn xua tan xui xẻo, đón nhận may mắn. Theo truyền thống, việc cúng Tết Đoan Ngọ cũng được thực hiện trong khoảng từ 11h đến 13h ngày 5/5 Âm lịch.
Cùng với mâm cúng lễ, người xưa còn chuẩn bị bài cúng với ý nghĩa mong muốn xua tan xui xẻo, đón nhận may mắn.

I bow to the nine directions of heaven, the ten directions of Buddha, and all the Buddhas of the ten directions. I respectfully bow to the Heavenly Emperor, the Earth Goddess, and all the revered deities. I respectfully bow to the local tutelary deity, the local earth deity, and the household kitchen god.
I respectfully bow before my ancestors, my deceased father and mother, and all departed spirits (if my parents are still alive, replace them with my paternal and maternal ancestors).

Hôm nay là ngày mùng 5/5 âm lịch, nhằm ngày Tết Đoan ngọ, chúng con sửa sang hương đăng, sắm sanh lễ vật, hoa, trà, quả dâng lên trước án.
We respectfully invite the local tutelary deity, the great kings, the local earth god, the household kitchen god, the five directions, the dragon vein, and the god of wealth to descend before the altar to witness our sincerity and accept our offerings.
We respectfully invite our ancestors, both paternal and maternal, and all departed spirits of our family lineage... We humbly beg you to have mercy on your descendants, witness our sincerity, and accept our offerings.
We, your humble devotees, respectfully invite the former and current owners of this house and land to come before the altar, partake in the offerings, and bless us with good health, peace of mind, freedom from misfortune throughout the four seasons, and prosperity in all eight festivals.
We pay our respects with sincerity, pay our respects to the altar, and bow to ask for blessings and protection.
