Theo truyền thống người Việt, mâm cỗ cúng Tết Hàn thực 3/3 âm lịch including:

• 5 hoặc 3 bát bánh trôi
• 5 hoặc 3 bát bánh chay
• A glass of clean water
• Hương, mâm ngũ quả và hoa, trầu cau.

Việc sử dụng số lẻ để thờ cúng trong văn hóa người Việt đã quá quen thuộc với ý nghĩa cầu may mắn, điều lành, vì số lẻ là số thuộc dương.

Cúng Tết Hàn thực vào giờ nào?

Phần lớn các gia đình cúng Tết Hàn thực vào khoảng thời gian thuận tiện nhất, không quá cầu kỳ chọn giờ. Tuy nhiên, nếu coi trọng điều này, bạn có thể tham khảo các giờ cúng đẹp theo quan niệm phong thủy, gồm: Giờ Dần (3-5h), giờ Thìn (7- 9h), giờ Tỵ (9-11h), giờ Thân (15h-17h), giờ Dậu (17h-19h), giờ Hợi (21h-23h).

Các giờ được cho là xấu gồm: Tý (23h-1h), Sửu (1h-3h), Mão (5h-7h), Ngọ (11h-13h), Mùi (13h-15h), Tuất (19h-21h).

Văn khấn Tết Hàn thực

Con lạy chín phương Trời, mười phương Phật, chư Phật mười phương. Con kính lạy hoàng thiên hậu thổ, chư vị tôn thần. Con kính lạy ngài bản cảnh thành hoàng, ngài bản xứ thổ địa, ngài bản gia táo quân cùng chư vị tôn thần.

We, your devout followers, deeply appreciate the blessings of Heaven and Earth, and all the revered deities. Remembering the virtuous deeds of our ancestors, we sincerely prepare offerings of betel nuts and leaves, incense, flowers, tea, and fruits, lighting incense sticks with heartfelt devotion, and presenting them before the altar.

We respectfully invite the local guardian deity, the great kings, the local earth god, the household kitchen god, the five directions, the dragon vein, and the god of wealth to descend before the altar to witness our sincerity and accept our offerings.

We respectfully invite our ancestors, both paternal and maternal, and all the spirits of our family lineage (family name of the homeowner) to come and witness our sincere devotion and partake of the offerings.

We, your humble devotees, respectfully invite the spirits of the former and current owners residing in this house and on this land to come before the altar, partake in the offerings, and bless our entire family with good health, peace, prosperity, and family harmony.
