Polish Defense Minister Wieslaw Kukula said: "Indications suggest a Russian missile entered Polish airspace. The missile has since left our airspace. Radar and our allies have confirmed this."
Meanwhile, General Maciej Klisz, commander of Polish military operations, said that the Russian missile entered Polish airspace at around 7:12 a.m. on December 29 (local time). The missile penetrated about 40 km, traveled through Polish airspace for 3 minutes, and then returned to Ukraine.

According to Maciej Klisz, Poland's air defense system was placed on high alert due to the intense wave of Russian drone and missile attacks on Ukraine on December 29.

The White House said on December 29 that U.S. President Joe Biden is closely monitoring developments in Poland. In a phone call with Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Siewiera, U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan “expressed U.S. solidarity with Poland” and pledged technical assistance if needed.
This is not the first time the conflict in Ukraine has threatened to spill over into Polish territory. In November 2022, a Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile landed in the border village of Przewodow, killing two people.
New Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has pledged full support for Ukraine in its fight against Russia.
The Russia-Ukraine conflict has lasted nearly two years and shows no sign of ending. Ukraine is fighting against Russian forces as Moscow establishes a strong defensive system along the areas it controls.
