According to information from the Van Don District Health Center (Quang Ninh province), doctors successfully delivered a baby for a pregnant woman right on the emergency boat while it was being transported to the mainland to await the birth.
Accordingly, at approximately 10:00 AM on April 17th, the Van Don District Health Center received a call requesting emergency assistance from the Quan Lan Regional Polyclinic regarding a pregnant woman, VTH, from Quan Lan island commune, who was 38 weeks pregnant and in labor for her fifth delivery.
Upon receiving the notification, the leadership of Van Don Medical Center quickly directed the Department of Reproductive Health and Obstetrics to send an emergency team to provide assistance. The emergency team traveled to Quan Lan island commune by the Center's emergency boat.

After a 45-minute journey to Quan Lan Island, the pregnant woman was picked up by the emergency team and transported back to the mainland by boat. During the journey, she suddenly experienced severe pain, and the fetal heart rate reached approximately 130-150 beats per minute.
Upon examination, the pregnant woman's cervix was fully dilated, and the baby's head was low in the pelvis, so the emergency team instructed her to push. Approximately 5 minutes later, the delivery was successful, and the woman gave birth to a baby boy who cried loudly.
At 11:40 AM the same day, after the ship docked at Van Don port, the mother and baby boy were immediately taken to the Van Don District Medical Center for continued monitoring and care.
Both mother and child are currently in stable health.
