ABC News reported late on April 18, citing a U.S. official, that Israeli missiles had struck a location in Iran, days after Iran carried out a drone strike on Israel.

Iran's Fars news agency reported that many people heard an explosion at an airport in the city of Isafahan, but the cause was not immediately determined. Several Iranian nuclear sites, military bases, and research centers are located in Isfahan province, including Natanz, the center of the country's uranium enrichment program.
CNN reported that several flights were diverted while passing through Iranian airspace. Over the weekend, Iran launched hundreds of drones and missiles in retaliation for a suspected Israeli attack on its embassy in Syria.
Most of the drones and missiles were shot down before reaching Israeli territory. Iran told the UN Security Council on April 18 that Israel "must be forced to stop any military adventurism against our interests" as the UN Secretary-General warned that the Middle East was at "a moment of maximum danger".
Earlier, Israel affirmed it would retaliate against Iran's drone and missile attacks.
There are currently no reports of casualties, nor has there been an official response from Iran. Additionally, according to Al Jazeera, there are reports of explosions in Syria and Iraq. The United States and several European countries have urged Israel not to retaliate against the Iranian attack.
