Quat Lam Tourist Area has been renamed.

On June 17th, Tran Song Tung, Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, signed a decision to rename the tourist area. Quat Lam (formerly Giao Thuy district, Nam Dinh province) became Giao Ninh Tourist Area (located in Giao Ninh commune, Ninh Binh province).

According to the decision, the People's Committee of Giao Ninh commune is assigned the direct responsibility of managing, exploiting, and developing the tourist area; protecting tourism resources, preserving the landscape and environment, and ensuring security, order, and safety for tourists.

Local authorities are responsible for facilitating sightseeing and recreational activities, while also promoting the role of local communities in tourism development.

The People's Committee of Ninh Binh province has assigned relevant departments and agencies, including the Departments of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Finance, Construction, Agriculture and Environment, and the Police, along with other functional agencies, to coordinate in guiding, inspecting, and supporting the locality in the management, exploitation, and development of Giao Ninh Tourist Area in an efficient and sustainable manner.

Before its renaming, Quat Lam was one of the famous coastal tourist areas of the former Nam Dinh province and the Northern Delta region. With its long beach, spacious surroundings, and a well-developed resort service system dating back many years, it used to be a familiar destination for tens of thousands of tourists every summer.

In recent years, the Quat Lam tourist area has been upgraded and re-planned to improve infrastructure and tourism services. However, the attraction of this destination has not yet truly lived up to its potential after a long period of stagnation.

The renaming of Quat Lam Tourist Area to Giao Ninh Tourist Area is expected to usher in a new phase of development, linked to the province's new administrative space. Ninh BinhThis creates an impetus for localities to more effectively exploit their coastal tourism potential and attract tourists.
