What is the iris, and does it change over time?

The National Assembly has just passed the Law on Identity Cards, effective from July 1, 2024. In addition to facial photos, fingerprints, DNA, voice, occupation, etc., iris data will be used as biometric information for identity card data.

Can the iris change?

The doctor explained that using iris scans for a database might have some limitations, as images related to the iris are often very small and require sophisticated equipment to capture, which would add to the cost.

For groups of people whose iris shape and color may be altered as described above, fingerprints, other distinctive features such as body scars, and many other factors can be integrated for identification.
