The young leaves are often used in fish salads, wrapped in spring rolls, or as a seasoning for meat dishes. The dried roots, stems, and leaves are used as medicine.

Centella leaves: They have a nutty, bitter, aromatic, and slightly cooling taste.

The root of the Aralia plant: Sweet, mild, slightly bitter taste, warm in nature. The core should be removed during preparation.

Stems and leaves of the Aralia plant: 30g

Mimosa pudica root: 15g

Chrysanthemum: 15g

Licorice root: 15g

Put all ingredients into a pot, add 800ml of water, simmer until only 300ml remains, and divide into three portions to drink throughout the day. Use for 5 consecutive days.

Nourishes the body and combats fatigue.

150-200g of fresh Gynura procumbens leaves, 200ml of water.

Boil 200ml of water, add all the Centella asiatica leaves to the pot, cover, and after a few minutes, open the lid and stir a few times. After 5-7 minutes, strain the liquid, add another 200ml of water and boil again for the second time. Boil again, mix the two liquids together, and divide into two portions to drink throughout the day.

Treating rashes, allergies, and hives.

Dried Centella asiatica leaves: 80g. Boil in 500ml of water until reduced to 250ml, divide into two doses and drink for 10 consecutive days.

According to Traditional Medicine Practitioner Bui Dac Sang, although the Aralia plant is good for health, it is not suitable for everyone. Currently, there are not many studies on the health benefits of Aralia for pregnant and breastfeeding women, therefore, caution is needed when using it.

People with liver disease or those taking medication for other conditions should also consult their doctor before using Centella asiatica for medicinal purposes.
