The March 8th gift market features many unique and unusual products such as fingerprint rings, 24k gold-plated roses, fresh lavender flowers, etc., priced from 70.000 to 300,000 VND.

Around March 8th, the market for gold roses becomes vibrant again. This year, SJC company has launched a new model of 24k gold roses, weighing 5 taels to 1 tael, handcrafted in limited quantities, each rose having its own serial number. A free engraving service is also offered for customers who wish to have them engraved on the gold. These gold-plated roses are priced from 2-4 million VND per rose. Meanwhile, many places advertise selling 24k gold-plated roses in bulk for only 200.000-300.000 VND.

A gift shop on CMT8 Street, District 10, is selling 24k gold-plated roses for only 300.000 VND. The seller says this is their best-selling product for holidays like Valentine's Day (February 14th), International Women's Day (March 8th), and Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20th). They have any quantity needed, and if you buy more than 10 roses, the price drops to 280.000-290.000 VND per rose. Orders must be placed early, as they will be sold out closer to March 8th. When asked about the quality of the 24k gold, the seller explained, "The flowers have a golden color that resembles gold, hence the name '24k gold rose,' but it's not real gold. Real gold couldn't possibly be this price. They look very similar to the real thing, which is why many people choose them as gifts."

According to Mr. Bui Van Que, the owner of a gold-plating workshop in District 11, these gold-plated roses are just imitations, not plated with real gold. Instead, dried rose petals are dipped in a solution that gives them a shimmering golden color, and then a protective layer of glossy paint is applied. These roses are only for gifting and have no commercial value.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hau (District 3) said that although these roses are not made of real gold and are not of high value, they look very elegant and the price is suitable for people with low incomes. To buy the perfect gift, Mr. Hau usually checks the designs online first and orders them by phone to save time.

Chocolate roses are also very popular. Ms. Ngoc Phuong, the owner of a chocolate shop on Phan Dang Luu Street, Phu Nhuan District, said that with only a few days left until March 8th, her workshop is working almost day and night to meet customer orders. During this time, she is focusing solely on making chocolate roses. Each day, Ms. Phuong produces 300 roses at a price of 200.000 VND per stem.

One of the unique products for this year's gift market is a ring with a customer's fingerprint. Customers will receive their order three days after submitting their fingerprint sample and choosing between gold or silver. Depending on the size and material, a ring with a customer's fingerprint costs between 600.000 and 1,500,000 VND.

At Ho Thi Ky flower market in District 10, the price of fresh flowers has increased by 5.000-10.000 VND per flower compared to normal days. According to information from many shops, a large quantity of fresh flowers is continuing to arrive at the market, and demand has increased sharply compared to Valentine's Day on February 14th, so it is unlikely that there will be an oversupply.

This year, the market also features fresh lavender grown in pots (previously only dried lavender was available). This flower originates from France but has undergone years of tissue culture experiments to find the optimal conditions for growing it in Vietnam's tropical climate.

A flower shop on Hai Ba Trung Street, District 1, reported an increasing number of orders. These flowers are available in both cut and potted forms, priced at 20.000 VND per stem and 200.000 VND per pot.
