NAPAS stands for National Payment Services. It is the national card brand of the Vietnam National Payment Corporation. The card has similar functions to domestic ATM cards (domestic debit cards), specifically for paying bills, withdrawing and transferring money quickly, etc.
Established in 2004, NAPAS helps create a favorable intermediary environment for banks to connect and provide a wider range of services to users.

NAPAS domestic cards (or NAPAS cards for short) are a type of payment card issued through a collaboration between finance companies, banks, and the Vietnam National Payment Corporation. Card numbers begin with the issuer code 9704, issued by the State Bank of Vietnam.
Features of NAPAS cards
NAPAS cards are a product offered through a partnership between banks and NAPAS, and NAPAS does not directly issue the cards.
Identifying the card is quite simple; the "NAPAS" logo on the ATM card is the easiest way to identify it. The front of the NAPAS card has a chip, a contactless symbol, and the logo of the issuing bank.
The back of the card has a magnetic strip and some information specified by each bank. The magnetic strip is positioned at the top for the easiest readability of the information.
Furthermore, NAPAS cards are equipped with high-tech EMV-standard security chips, ensuring high security. The information on the card is encrypted at a high level, making it very difficult to counterfeit. This represents a significant advancement compared to conventional bank cards, offering enhanced protection for users.

Essentially, NAPAS cards have the same functions as regular ATM cards, such as withdrawing money, transferring funds, and paying bills. Cardholders can transfer and withdraw money at all ATMs and POS machines of all banks participating in the NAPAS network.
Furthermore, NAPAS cards offer higher security than ATM cards. When using a NAPAS card, users will receive many benefits from partner merchants and e-commerce sites that accept card payments.
