An additional 277 people have contracted COVID-19.

On the morning of July 7th, Vietnam reported 277 new COVID-19 cases, including 276 domestically transmitted cases.

Among the 277 COVID-19 cases (BN22065-BN22341) then 276 cases were recorded domestically in: Ho Chi Minh City (270), Phu Yen (2), Dong Nai (2), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (1), Ha Tinh (1) and 1 case immediately quarantined after entry in Quang Binh.

BN22065 A case recorded in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province: A 28-year-old male, residing in Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province, is a close contact (F1) of patient 19071 and is currently in isolation. His test result on July 6th was positive for SARS-CoV-2. He is currently isolated and receiving treatment at the Long Dien District Health Center, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

BN22066-BN22067 In Phu Yen province, the cases recorded are F1 contacts within quarantine zones and lockdown areas. Test results on July 3rd and 5th showed that these patients tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.

BN22068 A case has been recorded in Ha Tinh province: A male, 11 years old, residing in Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province; is a close contact (F1) of patient 17085 and is currently in isolation. The test result on July 6th showed the patient was positive for SARS-CoV-2. The patient is currently isolated and receiving treatment at the Ky Anh District Health Center.

BN22069-BN22070 In Dong Nai province, one case had a history of travel from Ho Chi Minh City; one case is under epidemiological investigation. Test results on July 6th showed both patients tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. The patients are currently isolated and receiving treatment at Dong Nai Lung Hospital.

BN22072-BN22341 In Ho Chi Minh City, 232 cases are recorded among individuals in quarantine or lockdown areas; 38 cases are under epidemiological investigation. All test results are positive for SARS-CoV-2.

One person was quarantined immediately after entering the country.

BN22071 A 33-year-old male, residing in Nhu Thanh district, Thanh Hoa province, was immediately quarantined upon arrival in Quang Binh province. On July 4th, he entered Vietnam from abroad via the Moc Bai International Border Gate in Tay Ninh province and was immediately quarantined in Quang Binh province. His first test on July 5th was positive for SARS-CoV-2. He is currently isolated and receiving treatment at the Northern Quang Binh Regional General Hospital.

According to the report of the Treatment Subcommittee of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, Vietnam has currently cured 8.077 patients. The number of deaths related to COVID-19 is 90.

Among the patients currently under treatment, 311 tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 on the first test, 133 on the second test, and 72 on the third test.

On July 6th, Vietnam vaccinated an additional 21.067 people against COVID-19. As of 4 PM on the same day, a total of 3.928.001 doses of COVID-19 vaccine had been administered nationwide. Of these, 235.570 people had received both doses.
