BN1532 In Ho Chi Minh City: a 23-year-old female, Vietnamese national, residing in Hoang Mai District, Hanoi. The patient traveled from Canada, transiting through South Korea, and then entered Vietnam via Tan Son Nhat Airport on December 29th on flight VN405. She was immediately quarantined in Ho Chi Minh City upon arrival.
The first test result on December 29th was negative; the second test on January 12th and the third test on January 13th were suspected positive for SARS-CoV-2; a fourth sample taken on January 14th and tested at the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases confirmed the patient was positive for SARS-CoV-2.
The patient is currently isolated and receiving treatment at the Cu Chi Field Hospital. Previously, this flight had two cases that tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.
BN1533 In Ho Chi Minh City: a 61-year-old male, a US national and expert. The patient traveled from the US, transiting through Singapore, and then entered Tan Son Nhat Airport on December 31st on flight SQ178. He was quarantined in Ho Chi Minh City immediately upon arrival.
The first test result on January 1st was negative; a second sample taken on January 14th, tested at the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control, confirmed the patient was positive for SARS-CoV-2. The patient is currently isolated and receiving treatment at the Cu Chi Field Hospital.
People must declare their health status upon returning from areas affected by the epidemic.
BN1534 In Da Nang City: male, 23 years old, Vietnamese nationality, residing in Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province.
BN1535 In Da Nang City: male, 21 years old, Vietnamese nationality, residing in Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City.
BN1536 In Da Nang City: female, 79 years old, Vietnamese nationality, residing in District 5, Ho Chi Minh City.
Patients BN1534-1536, arriving from the US, transited through Incheon Airport (South Korea) before entering Da Nang Airport on January 13th on flight VN431. They were immediately quarantined in Da Nang City upon arrival.
Test results from the Da Nang City Center for Disease Control on January 14th confirmed that the patients tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. The patients are currently isolated and receiving treatment at the Da Nang Lung Hospital.

The total number of people in close contact with infected individuals or entering from epidemic areas who are currently under health monitoring (quarantine) in our country is 18.295. Of these, 146 are quarantined in hospitals; 16.642 are quarantined in other facilities; and 1.507 are quarantined at home or their place of residence.
Among the COVID-19 patients currently under treatment, 10 tested negative for the virus on the first test, 10 on the second test, and 12 on the third test. COVID-2There are 2 severe cases nationwide: Patient 1465 and Patient 1405.
The death toll to date is 35, including 31 in Da Nang, 3 in Quang Nam, and 1 in Quang Tri. The majority of the deceased were elderly individuals with severe underlying conditions such as end-stage chronic kidney disease, end-stage leukemia unresponsive to chemotherapy, coronary artery syndrome, acute respiratory failure, multiple joint degeneration, hypertension, chronic adrenal insufficiency, type 2 diabetes, sepsis, pneumonia, debilitation, and multiple organ failure.
