Mâm cỗ cúng rằm tháng Giêng hầu như không thể thiếu thịt gà, xôi gấc/bánh chưng. Gà là vật cúng tế linh thiêng nhất, còn xôi gấc có màu đỏ sẽ mang đến may mắn cho gia đình trong năm mới.

Các món ăn khác như giò, chả, rau xào... cũng được dùng cúng gia tiên vào ngày này. Ngoài ra còn có hương, hoa tưởi, vàng mã, đèn nến, trầu cau, rượu.

The offering ceremony on the 15th day of the first lunar month doesn't necessarily require an elaborate feast. Families should prepare according to their means, adapting their offerings to suit their economic circumstances, while emphasizing sincerity and reverence.

• A mixed stir-fry dish
• A plate of spring rolls
• A plate of stir-fried vegetables
• A plate of pork sausage
• A plate of sticky rice with gac fruit
• A plate of fruit
• Other items include: incense, paper offerings, candles, betel nuts, and wine.

In particular, the offering tray must include glutinous rice balls (che troi nuoc). The meaning of eating glutinous rice balls on the Lantern Festival is to wish for everything to go smoothly and successfully throughout the year.

Vegetarian offerings for the full moon ceremony in the first lunar month.

Some families also prepare a vegetarian feast to offer to Buddha on the full moon of the first lunar month, which includes:

• Fruits
• Sticky rice dessert
• Bean dishes
• Stir-fried soup without added spices.
• Rice dumplings in sweet soup

A vegetarian feast can have from 10, 12 to 25 dishes, depending on the type. A special feature of a vegetarian feast is the presence of colors symbolizing the five elements.
