(VTC News) - Chinese electronics manufacturer ITG has launched the second generation of the xpPhone, which will be the first smartphone to use the Windows 8 operating system.The xpPhone is known as a brand of mobile phones using Microsoft's Windows operating system. The first generation of this product line was launched in September 2009 and featured a 4,3-inch touchscreen running on Windows XP.

ITG, a relatively unfamiliar brand, has officially introduced the next generation of its xpPhone line, the xpPhone2, which runs on Windows 8 and is expected to be released in 2012.The xpPhone2 will be designed with dimensions of 140mm x 73mm x 17,5mm, 2GB of RAM, a massive storage capacity of up to 112GB, and the ability to provide up to 18,5 hours of continuous talk time on a single charge.
Other specifications for this device have not yet been officially confirmed; however, it is believed that the xpPhone2 will be equipped with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530 chip and a touchscreen, instead of the horizontal sliding design with a QWERTY keyboard as in the first generation.
