More flexible, smarter, and more efficient.
According to observers, the appeal of the new generation VF 8 stems primarily from the significant changes in its technical foundation, operational capabilities, and overall product refinement.
The new version is developed on an electro-electronic platform following the trend of software-based control – offering many upgrades compared to its predecessor. This is a key difference from traditional car models, where software increasingly plays a central role in operational management, energy allocation, driver assistance, and enhancing the user experience throughout the product lifecycle.
A notable change is the weight reduction of up to 600 kg compared to its predecessor. Expert Chu Huu Tho (AutoBikes Vietnam channel) assesses that this weight change, combined with the front-wheel drive system, will help the vehicle operate stably and perform well in various driving conditions, from urban roads to highways.

According to Mr. Tho, the FSD adaptive suspension system is another worthwhile upgrade on this model. "This suspension system can automatically adjust its stiffness to reduce vibrations from the road surface, providing a stable driving experience at high speeds while remaining smooth when driving over rough roads." Mr. Tho analyzed the situation.
Sharing the same view, expert Trinh Le Hung (Autodaily channel) believes that, at a similar price point, the new VF 8 is one of the rare cars to possess adaptive hydraulic suspension technology on both the front and rear axles.
In addition, the integrated thermal management system (ITM) continues to be a practical upgrade for electric vehicle users. According to expert Trinh Le Hung, this system optimizes driving range, bringing the operating range of the new VF 8 up to 500 km according to the NEDC standard, while also increasing fast charging speed.
The changes in amenities also show that the new VF 8 is designed with a more practical approach. After experiencing the pre-production version of the new VF 8 at a VinFast dealership, the expert noted the comfort in the second row with good reclining angle and ample legroom.
Notably, the gear shifter has been moved to the steering wheel, integrating smart control buttons. This optimizes interior space, allowing the driver to operate the vehicle more quickly and conveniently. These adjustments directly impact the daily driving experience, helping the new generation VF 8 win over customers "from the first glance."

From ownership costs to operating costs, everything is "unrivaled".
While the technological platform is what attracts customers, the price and cost of ownership are factors that quickly encourage users to make a purchase for the new generation VF 8. During the early deposit period, customers received a direct discount of 51 million VND, combined with a 10% support from the "Intense for a Green Future" program. Adding to this the policy of 100% exemption from registration fees for electric vehicles, the on-the-road price of the new VF 8 is brought down to just 850 million VND.
"The listed price of 999 million VND was already shocking, but the on-the-road price is even lower. This is an extremely attractive price for a D-segment car.""Expert Chu Huu Tho commented."
Sharing the same view, expert Tung Trinh (from the Tinh Te Car channel) believes that VinFast is on the right track by meeting the Vietnamese market's needs in terms of price. Thanks to this, the new VF 8 reaches a wider group of mainstream customers, competing even with models in lower segments. Proof of this is that even after the early deposit period, the on-the-road price of the new VF 8 remains below 900 million VND – a figure considered exceptionally economical in its segment.
Besides its incredibly low ownership costs, the new generation VF 8 also boasts a strategic advantage: virtually zero operating costs. The policy of free charging at V-Green's public charging stations, valid until February 10, 2029, is a privilege that's hard to refuse. When compared to regular gasoline-powered vehicles that consume millions of dong in fuel each month, the economic advantage becomes overwhelmingly clear.

"Both VinFast's free charging policy and warranty are top-notch. Few brands can compare.""Expert Tung Trinh added."
The record-breaking sales during the "8 Golden Days" further reinforced the positive assessments of the technology, platform, and amenities from experts. In June, Vietnamese customers can continue to experience the interior and exterior of the car that has taken the market by storm at VinFast dealerships across all three regions. The first vehicles are expected to reach customers from the end of July 2026.
