(VTC News) -

34 students from class 9C1 of Archimedes Secondary School have all been admitted to top-tier universities in Hanoi specializing in Mathematics and Computer Science, achieving a rare feat in this year's admissions season.

Class 9C1 of Archimedes Academy Secondary School became a special class in the 2026-2027 10th grade admissions season when all 34 students were accepted into specialized Math and Computer Science classes at top specialized high schools in Hanoi.

According to statistics released after specialized schools and the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced the entrance exam results, class 9C1 is one of the rare classes that achieved a 100% pass rate for specialized Mathematics and Computer Science programs.

Among them, 20 out of 34 students were admitted to the specialized Mathematics or Computer Science classes at the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences; 26 out of 34 students were admitted to the specialized Mathematics or Computer Science classes at the High School for Gifted Students affiliated with Hanoi University of Education. Notably, the class had a student who was the runner-up in the specialized Mathematics class at Hanoi University of Education and many students received high-value scholarships.

In the specialized school system under the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, all 34 students passed the entrance exams for specialized classes in Mathematics or Computer Science. Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted alone had 23 students from its class who were admitted.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Mai, the homeroom teacher and math teacher of the class, said that this is the third consecutive year he has achieved a 100% success rate in the entrance exams for specialized math and computer science programs. However, this is also the class with the largest number of students ever.

“The class has a large number of male students who are active, individualistic, and full of energy. Besides providing academic support, the teacher also has to pay attention to the discipline, psychology, and school life of each student. The large class size significantly increases the pressure of managing the class and supporting the students.”"Teacher Mai shared."

What Mr. Mai is most proud of is not only the students' academic achievements but also the spirit of unity within the class. During the exam preparation process, the students always supported each other, working together to overcome weaknesses and improve.

The most memorable moment came when the specialized high schools announced their results one after another. After the High School for Gifted Students specializing in Natural Sciences announced its exam scores, 20 students in the class had been admitted. By the time the High School for Gifted Students affiliated with the University of Education announced its results, this number had increased to 26 students.

However, five students still haven't been admitted to any specialized schools, causing anxiety among teachers and parents. For many hours waiting for the Hanoi Department of Education and Training's cutoff scores, Mr. Mai continuously monitored and checked the results for each student.

“When we learned that all five students had been accepted into specialized math and computer science programs at schools under the Department of Education, it was the best possible scenario. The emotions at that moment were truly overwhelming. Not only the students but also many parents burst into tears of joy after a long period of stress.” The teacher recounted.

A parent burst into tears over the phone upon learning their child had been accepted into their dream school. The homeroom teacher, too, couldn't hide their emotions, and silent tears streamed down their face after months of accompanying their student.

The teacher was moved to see his students united and all getting into their dream specialized school.

Teacher Mai attributed the class's success to the collaboration between the school, teachers, parents, and especially the students' persistent efforts. Throughout the review process, the students were constantly encouraged to maintain their belief, not give up, and focus on improving their weaknesses.

This year's entrance exam for 10th grade in Hanoi's public schools had approximately 124.000 candidates. Given that specialized classes in Mathematics and Computer Science always have the highest competition rates, the fact that all 34 students from one class were admitted is considered a remarkable achievement, creating a special milestone in the 2026 admissions season.
