VinFast VF 5 'raises the standard' for first-generation cars for Vietnamese people.

(VTC News) -

The VinFast VF 5 sets a new standard in the A-segment car market, equipped with a range of advanced amenities and technology, yet offering better ownership and operating costs.

First car: "Just enough" is no longer the standard.

Previously, the A-segment car market only needed to meet basic needs like city driving, low cost, and accessibility. However, in recent years, with a more diverse market, the requirements for an "entry-level" car have increased, encompassing criteria for performance, safety, and technology.

"Previously, I thought that city cars only needed to get from A to B. But after using them daily, especially during rush hour, I realized the importance of a car with a responsive engine.""Hoang Minh, an IT employee in Ho Chi Minh City, who bought a VinFast VF 5 two months ago, shared.

The VF 5's 134 horsepower output far surpasses the average for A-segment gasoline cars, which typically only reach around 100 horsepower at most. This difference is also evident in the driving experience, with smooth acceleration and quick responsiveness, especially useful when navigating congested traffic and requiring decisiveness when merging lanes or overtaking.

The vehicle's safety technology is also a strong point highlighted by many owners. With the VF 5, customers have access to advanced driver assistance technologies (ADAS) such as blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and door open warning. Many of these features are only found in models priced between 600 and 700 million VND.

"With an affordable price point, manufacturers often opt for minimalist features. However, what users get with the VF 5 truly exceeds expectations, arguably approaching the level of higher-segment vehicles.""That's what Mr. Minh affirmed."

Sharing the same opinion, Mr. Tri Tai (Dong Nai), the owner of a VF 5 since 2024, also highly appreciates the technological amenities on the car. According to him, a car in the 500 million VND price range that comes with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, two electronic screens, and a Vietnamese-language virtual assistant is a "rare find" on the market.

Solving the long-term cost problem

For first-time car buyers, the VF 5 also completely solves the financial problem – the most important factor for families and young people who do not have much savings.

Thanks to the policy of waiving 100% of registration fees for battery-powered electric vehicles until 2030, customers buying the VF 5 can save approximately 50-60 million VND at the time of purchase.

In addition, VinFast is implementing many promotional programs including: "Intense for a Green Future", "Brilliant Summer - Vinfascination", and a gift of 2 years of insurance (applicable until June 30th), bringing the total direct discount to over 62 million VND. The amount to bring the VF 5 to the road is therefore only from 470 million VND (depending on the registration area).

On the other hand, thanks to the free charging policy at V-Green public stations until February 10, 2029, VF 5 users no longer have to consider fuel costs for each trip, and can comfortably use their vehicle daily, even confidently undertaking long journeys.

“I drive about 2.000 km each month, and VinFast subsidizes the charging costs, so I save a few million dong each month compared to driving a gasoline car. Even after the promotion ends, my monthly charging costs will still be less than 1 million dong.”"That's what Mr. Tri Tai commented."

In addition to energy costs, electric vehicles, with their fewer mechanical parts, help users save on additional expenses such as oil and lubricant changes.

The scheduled maintenance interval of up to 15.000 km – three times longer than gasoline models – is also suitable for those with busy work schedules and little time to take their car to the workshop. In particular, the VF 5 comes with a 7-year warranty for the car and an 8-year warranty for the battery, providing long-term peace of mind for first-time car owners.

"The VF 5 helped me get rid of the idea that owning a car means incurring many extra monthly expenses.""That's what the car owner confirmed."

With the VF 5, Vietnamese consumers no longer have to choose between "good quality" and "good price." The combination of flexible handling, safety technology, and optimized cost-effectiveness helps this electric vehicle meet the needs of first-time car buyers. This is also why the VF 5 is considered the "national car" of Vietnam and consistently ranks among the top-selling vehicles in the industry.
